Jagged Alliance: "Back in Action" in Fall 2011
- bitComposer Games and NBG EDV Handels & Verlags GmbH to continue their distribution partnership -
Eschborn, 24. Mai 2011: bitComposer Games is again granting the distribution rights in the German-speaking territories for Jagged Alliance: Back in Action to NBG EDV Handels & Verlags GmbH. This ambitious strategy game will be hitting the stores in Fall 2011 on Windows PC. Jagged Alliance: Back in Action is a remake of the world famous 1999 strategy classic, Jagged Alliance 2, but has been redesigned with a contemporary look and an innovative combat system that combines dynamic real-time gameplay with turn-based elements.
"We are delighted to have secured NBG as a strong distribution partner to promote Jagged Alliance: Back in Action ", said Wolfgang Duhr, Managing Director of bitComposer Games. "We have worked very successfully with NBG in the past, and are really looking forward to another collaboration on our fantastic product."
"The high-end and exceptional titles produced by bitComposer Games fit perfectly into our portfolio. Distributing and marketing the products is a lot of fun, and we are thrilled that bitComposer has again entrusted us with the job." said Markus Biehl, NBG's Managing Director.
In Jagged Alliance: Back in Action takes us back to the fictitious island state of Arulco, where a ruthless woman dictator has seized power. The player's mission is to hire the best mercenaries in the world to recapture the country zone by zone. He will be helped in this task by the local rebels whom he will train and arm. The player can exploit the island's resources in the captured areas to provide the financial means to supply him with weapons and equipment, and to hire more "mercs". The different teams will be controlled and deployed on a strategic map before engaging in battle to recapture the territory in the tactical levels.
Similar to Jagged Alliance 2, Jagged Alliance: Back in Action will again offer the popular mix of sophisticated tactics, RPG and business simulation which made the classic predecessor so special. The player can form elite squads from among over 60 diverse and unique merc characters, and send them on various missions. The new "Plan & Go" combat system skilfully combines dynamic real-time gameplay with turn-based elements.
